Autumn in Alsace
During autumn in Alsace, a veritable open air pantry awaits you a few kilometers from us. In its expanses of pre-Vosges forests, trumpets of the dead, lepiotes, porcini mushrooms or amethyst laccaria are as beautiful to look at as they are delicious to eat, do not hesitate, the pan that you will find in the kitchen of our cottage loves it!
Thank you!
A big thank you to all our visitors, without whom this magnificent score of 9.6 @ booking.com would not exist!
Asparagus from Alsace
It all started in Scharrachbergheim!
It was Pastor Heyler, born in the village in 1831, who introduced it to Alsace: in 1869, when he left his ministry in Phillipeville (now Skikda) in Algeria, he brought back some plants and installed them in the vegetable garden of its new presbytery in Hoerdt, at the north of Strasbourg. The trial being successful, he convinced a few farmers to grow them on a larger scale. Today some 2000 tonnes are produced each spring from North to South Alsace. To each his own preference: some will appreciate the bitterness of those produced in the land of Hoerdt, others will prefer the sweetness of those produced in our region. White asparagus represents 98% of the volume but green is gaining more and more followers. You will find the closest field at the exit of the village and from mid-April to mid-May you can buy them fresh from the ground, directly from the producers !
Alsace Vineyard Marathon
The Alsace Vineyard Marathon is a legendary race that animates our villages and vineyards every year in June. The Marathon (42km 195) starts from Molsheim and passes through Scharrachbergheim, the half marathon (21 km 102) even starts from here! The atmosphere is very friendly: athletes, all disguised, from all over Europe and gastro-wine tastings, make it a unique event!
Save the date, the next edition will take place on June 21 and 22th 2025!
